Holiday Part #4: I love Scotland

After a few days recovery, I was off again - this time flying solo in Scotland. Arrived in Edinburgh early morning and fell in love with the city immediately. Edinburgh Castle sits right in the heart of the city, high up on a hill and is a pretty impressive sight! So much so that I decided to play tourist, and venture up the winding streets to the Castle - even paying to get in. (I even leased some headphones and listened to dodgy historical commentary as I roamed around - great lampoons eat your heart out!)

The lovely Amber Rimmer had just relocated back to Edinburgh and we caught up for dinner - bella it was great to see you. The next day I embarked on Britains longest day tour - 12 hours of mini bus joyriding around the Highlands and back, to see how far. I was right into the history our driver was spinning along the way, and even though my toes went blue everytime we got out of the bus (yes, again thongs) it was an amazing day.

Highlight was a boat ride around Loch Ness. In actual fact I was trapped on a boat with a rather infamous character who has spent his whole life looking for the Loch Ness Monster.... now theres a fella who could use a dose of reality! Although am fairly sure he had suckered a few people in by the end of the cruise - even to the point of producing blurry, questionable pictures from his mobile phone which may or may not have been the creature. (They also may or may not have been taken through a whisky haze / dirty window, but I kept quiet). Nonetheless it was all very magical.... and as you can see I may have caught sight of the wee monsters tail!

A short trip but an extremely enjoyable one! I officially love Scotland and will be back soon.
